The film collected Rs 34.75 crore on the first day of 2018.

The good advance booking figures of ‘Brahmastra’ raised hopes that the film could do wonders on its first day of release in five languages ​​including Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu. However, Ranbir Kapoor said about his film that he cannot take the advance booking figures seriously because, ‘the game doesn’t start until the audience sees the film’.

According to an online report, ‘Brahmastra’ grossed around 35-36 crore across all its versions, making it the highest grossing non-holiday film for original Hindi content. Reports say that the collections of the Hindi version will be around 32-33 crores nett. The film also bagged an overseas collection deal of around $8-10 million over the weekend.

11 crore tickets have been sold till Wednesday night after opening advance bookings for ‘Brahmastra’. These were seen as the best advance booking figures for any Bollywood film in the post-pandemic era. However, the film was given mixed reviews by critics. SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’ had the highest opening on a holiday with a collection of Rs 41 crore, a record. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil and dubbed in Hindi.
