As of Wednesday night, a day before the film’s release, ‘Brahmastra’ tickets have been sold to the tune of Rs 23 crore. And more importantly out of the 23 crores almost half are coming from day one. The film earned around 23 crores before its release.

According to sources, ‘Brahmastra’ has sold 11 crore tickets in five languages across the country on its first day of release. Talking about the Hindi version alone, this number is more than 10 crores. Means Ayan Mukherjee’s film is far ahead of the Hindi version of ‘RRR’. ‘RRR’ sold Rs 7 crore tickets on the first day in advance bookings. However, it is miles behind the advance booking figures of ‘KGF’. For the Hindi version of ‘KGF Chapter 2’, an advance booking of Rs 40 crore was made and all languages combined Rs 80 crore.

11 crore from the Hindi version alone

According to an online portal report, the Hindi version of ‘Brahmastra’ has sold 22.25 crore tickets in its opening weekend. Whereas for the Telugu version, 98 lakh tickets were sold and for the Tamil version 11.1 lakh tickets were sold. The Kannada and Malayalam versions saw very little advance booking till Wednesday night.

To earn a bumper on the opening day

In this context, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Brahmastra’ is heading towards a bumper opening. Looking at these figures it is easy to guess that the recently released Karthik Aaryan’s film ‘Bhool Bhulaya 2’ which opened with 14.5 crores and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ which opened with 26 crores. Farther ahead however, Ayan Mukherjee’s ‘Brahmastra’ will certainly be a challenge as Yash’s ‘KGF 2’ raked in Rs 54 crore on opening day.
